Read EULA once more.
EULA doesnt apply when there is substandard service. Why do you think they gave us all 100,000 skillpoints for the last time this happened?
The skillpoints arent free. We pay for the service to work in the time THEY give (their contract with us includes time allocated for the initial advertised DT extension). We earned them. If they want to modify the contract, we have a right as customers to compensation.
From EULA: 12. NO WARRANTIES
The Software, System, Game and all Game Content, and all other services and material provided in connection therewith, are provided "AS IS," with all faults, and without warranty of any kind. You assume all risk of use and all risk associated with accessing the System and playing the Game.

The System may become unavailable for a number of reasons, including without limitation during the performance of maintenance to the System, for the implementation of new software, for emergency situations and due to equipment or telecommunications failures.
So if they give anything, they are just being nice.

Again, it doesnt apply just because they say it. There is consumer laws in the countries where their customers purchase their product (ongoing service) they have to conform to. Thats why they gave you the 100,000 SP the last time.
Wrong. EULA is a contract which we all have accepted and "signed". I know what you are trying to say, but you can't take CCP to court on this. They will just show to the EULA which you have accepted and that will be that no matter what local country law might say.

So if the EULA states that CCP is allowed to use the pc's of customers in botnets to send spam around the world this overrides all local laws?
The answer of course, is NO!
Sigh. That is no a service being provided by CCP and none would pay for such a service if it existed, so your argument is null and void.

wrong, contract is considered invalid if it is in conflict with law or can I make and sign contract with hitman to do my ex
No, the contract would not be invalid but the action there in would be in violation of the law. And in such you would also be a murdere even if it was not you who killed your ex.

Well, since he would be in jail to I don't think that is anything to worry about Besides, if he didn't take payment upfront he wouldn't be all that smart |

Don't think so, as the act of paying to kill someone is not legal either in most countries. It's like taking someone to court cause he stole your 10 kilo's of coke.
so that contract means nothing cause its in conflict with law
No, the contract would be used as evidence to put you to jail too |

After reading all the posts i can understand why people would be annoyed but at the end of the day its only a very small portion of potential gametime we are loosing , i personaly did not know about the past record of CCP's patches but i wish i had know about said issue and the patch so i could have planned accordingly . That being said im not gonna have a meltdown over a few hours lost SP even though i am still a very young pilot and cant even get into a BS yet .
Thank God there still is some people with sense out there

As long as I have my payslip I can always get the money Besides, a db-error shouldn't be that hard to fix. A week? Someone has not been running backups and logs as they should

I am pretty shure if the switch off your phone and extending and extending the time you will react like everyone else in here "hey they are just humans and also i am only paying for having the phone at home not using it"
Yes, I know what you mean But there are considerable differences in my contract with both my bank and phone company as opposed to the one I have with CCP and EVE Online And to be without a phone for extended time would be bliss

Plx pod yourselves if you think CCP can charge you and expect you to go without service just because they said so.
I agree it is annoying not being able to play, but according to the EULA which we all have accepted, stuff like this may pop up every now and then. And if you are so ****ed, cancel your subscription. Or try to take them to court. You will loose, but it will be entertaining for the rest of us |

Why? Isn't anything anyone of us can do about it anyways. Let them focus on getting the server back up instead. Would it really help you to know that it was a bug in the code that didn't play well with some hardware or similar?

Because the more OSes you can deliver your product to the more players that pay for your product you get. It isn't that hard to understand. And picking up chicks in a mini-van is no problem at all. If you need a nice car to get chicks, well then the problem isn't the car.

Seriously are you mentally ******ed? or just a complete idiot?
People have the right to whine, and the reason they are whining is not because of the extended DT but because of the continual false "online" times,
If you have an appointment at 14:00 and then your told 15:00 then 16:30 then 18:00.....im pretty sure you would be ****ed off to,
Now the corner is that way -------> sit in it and STFU
Likewise. And stay there for good. If you can't live with the EULA then quit the game.

Just to re-iterate,
The whines are about the, broken promises, false commitments,
Your just making an idiot of yourself and 99% will agree with me.
First of I dare to say that fewer then 10% of the players have actually read the EULA. Most just click accept to get to the game. Second it is up to CCP to set the time they think they will be done. When they see they won't make it they adjust the time set, so there has been no broken promises or false commitments. It is called an estimate of time. Unforseen stuff pop up at times and crap things up. So you and the 99% that agree with you can take a pill and stop complaining and play the game.

Just to waste even more time when they have started? And this version allows the same amount of players online, but when everyone tries to log on at the same time there will be a que. And it was tested. But difference in amongst others hardware can have an impact. As I said. We don't know what went wrong or why. I'm just glad they have figured it out so we can play again with the latest patch.
